Business BTEC HND in Human Resource Managment

BTEC Higher National Diploma
The BTEC Higher National Diploma in Business is a 16-unit qualification of which eight units are mandatory core units.

Course description
The aim of this course is to equip students with the knowledge, understanding and skills required for success in business. It is designed to meet the needs for future employment in business as well as progression to an undergraduate degree in Business. The course covers the core business skills which are essential to be effective in today's work environment. An important element of the HND Business Studies course is the way we combine your learning and assessment. You will attend formal lectures during most of your units, but there is also a great deal of emphasis upon you being able to practice what you have learnt, and develop your practical skills. Much of your learning will be through case studies, videos, role play, group work and student-led seminars.

Entry requirements
An Advanced Vocational Certificate in Education for Business (or Advanced GNVQ) or related subject at merit level. A BTEC National Diploma in Business or related subject at merit level. A GCE A level profile which demonstrates strong performance in a relevant subject (for example, Business Studies) or an adequate performance in more than one GCE subject. This profile must be supported passes at GCSE at grades A, B or C. An access to Higher Education Qualification For mature students - appropriate work experience entry is also subject to interview.

Aim
The programme aims to equip students for a career in personnel management. Learners will study a range of key business management subjects covering: • traditional view of personnel management and the new approach of human resource management. • evaluating the procedures and practices used for recruiting and selecting suitable Employees • establish the effectiveness of principles and procedures for monitoring and rewarding the employee • explore rights and procedures on exit from an organisation.

Progression
BTEC Higher Nationals in Business prepares you for careers in business and management. As well as the opportunity to embark on a final year of the BA Honours Business programme at number of UK Universities, successful students will have greater opportunities for promotion and or facilitate a career change.
